To get Moodle 4.3 to run in either MAMP or XAMPP, you need to modify the moodle/admin/environment. All are running Moodle 4.3+ (Build: 20231102).Ĭurrent Production: MariaDB 10.6.15 (VPS)įuture Production: MySQL 8.0.35 (my current VPS is up for renewal in December)Ĭurrent MAMP: MySQL 5.7.34 (my main experimental Moodle)Ĭurrent XAMPP: MariaDB 10.4.28 (seldom do I run this) (I will soon upgrade my production server and will be using MySQL 8.0.35) My current production Moodle is running MariaDB 10.6.15, which does meet Moodle's requirements. My MAMP is running MySQL 5.7.34, and my XAMPP is running MariaDB 10.4.28. Neither MAMP nor XAMPP supports the required Moodle 4.3 database versions yet. Okay, things have become a little strange over the last few months. I assume you want to test Moodle 4.3, right? Moodle 4.3 requires (as a minimum, via Visvanath's Min/Max chart and Moodle docs) MariaDB 10.6. I also have successfully installed XAMPP for Windows, version 8.0.28, running Moodle 4.3+ (Build: 20231102) on a Parallels virtual PC on my Macbook Pro 2021 M1 laptop. As you probably know, Emma, I am using MAMP on my Mac as my experimental.
